What is Podiatry?

Podiatry (also known as chiropody) is a specialised area of medicine that deals with the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of conditions that affect the foot and lower limb. Podiatrists are trained to degree level and undertake many hours of clinical practice working within the NHS and podiatry departments within hospitals.

Podiatry is a regulated profession and all podiatrists are registered with the Heath and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Testimonials

Just come back from Purbeck Podiatry, excellent professional service and Alex is Just lovely, we had a great chat as well, very relaxed and professional, feel like I’m walking on air now, already booked my next visit and will definitely be a regular.

I am happy to recommend Alex Buik. She has been our family chiropodist for 8 years, looking after myself, both my elderly parents and my diabetic, disabled sister – we all think very highly of her. She combines professionalism with great care.

I went to see Alex for some treatment and found her to be professional, caring and effective. I would recommend Purbeck podiatry for everyone.

Alex has looked after my husbands feet for over a year. She does a fantastic job with him, checks everything thoroughly and leaves him feeling very relaxed. He has Huntington’s Disease and can get agitated, Alex always relaxes him. I have used her myself and loved the experience. She is very professional, and an absolute pleasure to know.

Thank you so much for your visit today Alex. We loved hearing about how to keep our feet clean and tidy.
